Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM)

Regionally anchored - internationally oriented

The FHM's internationalization strategy encompasses the areas of research and teaching, scientific projects and institutional networks of SMEs. In addition, the university maintains a worldwide network of numerous university collaborations that contribute to the development of innovative degree programs as well as the development of research structures and the promotion of forward-looking research topics.

China

FHM cooperates with over 50 renowned Chinese universities and colleges in the areas of knowledge and technology transfer, student exchange and study preparation. But the exchange with Chinese business enterprises and technology centers also contributes to the fact that the dual study programs of the FHM, with their practical and economic proximity, reflect Chinese development needs in line with the market and implement them in academic learning transfer.

India

As a dynamic growth market in the field of global higher education, India offers a wide range of opportunities for various forms of cooperation. FHM cooperates with both private and state universities in India in the areas of knowledge transfer, student exchange and study preparation. With an attractive range of English-language Bachelor's and Master's programs in the fields of Technology Management, Data Science, Automotive and Mobility as well as Business Management, FHM meets the high demand at international level.

Korea

FHM has been active in the booming Asian markets for many years now and has been able to attract strong and innovative partners there. For three years now, this has also been the case in South Korea, a country with cutting-edge technology, a spirit of innovation, a flourishing cultural life and a particularly close connection with Germany for almost 140 years! Our strongest local partner is HANSHIN University, which has a campus in Seoul and another just outside this metropolis of millions, one of the largest and most modern agglomerations in the world. It was precisely there that the “FHM-Hanshin Mittelstandsinstitut” was founded in 2018, with the aim of effectively utilizing our joint economic potential, exchanging and further developing our know-how and jointly training a young generation of German and Korean high potentials who know how to move and prove themselves internationally. For this reason, we have so far developed two programs that take this guiding principle into account: a Bachelor's program in International Business Administration (Double Degree) and a professional entry year for Korean graduates (PSP Professional). However, this is only the beginning of a long joint journey that will bring two of the world's most innovative economic nations - Germany and South Korea - closer together.

Turkey

The Fachhochschule des Mittelstands is systematically building strategic networks with universities in Turkey. For example, professors from FHM visited the renowned Istinye University in the metropolis of Istanbul in 2019. Further collaborations are currently being established. In addition to academic exchange and joint ERASMUS research projects, the joint development of joint study programs (Double Degree Bachelor) in the fields of social work and international management are also on the agenda for the FHM and its Turkish partner universities.

Iran

The FHM has also worked with partners from Iran for many years.
