Baobab Berlin International Football Tournament

Diverse, respectful, cheerful - and with an eye on current social problems: this is how Baobab, the intercultural soccer tournament in Berlin's wild district of Wedding, presented itself.

We from FHM were there with a very young team: the students from the General Technology Management master's program, the participants of the pre-study program and two professors in the flesh worked with more enthusiasm than measurable success, but enjoyed the spirit and the togetherness. “We had fun this time,” said the academic director of FHM Berlin in an interview with the stadium announcer, ”but next time we will come to win.”

The performance of the twelve students from India, China and Germany was of course celebrated by the hundreds of spectators and, above all, their fellow students: Quite a few “own fans” had “traveled along” and also cheered on the two professors Marcus Bölz and Klaus Zensen vigorously.  At thirty degrees in the shade, there was the opportunity to find out about the activities of the players next to the pitch, and the FHM information stand was well attended. The Bachelor's degree course in Social Pedagogy and Management was of particular interest to many, as were the English-language business degree courses.

The event ended at 5 p.m. in Wedding after a long day full of encounters, during which professors and students also got to know each other very well.
