FHM promotes the globalization of SMEs through international education and research initiatives

Internationalization is a central quality and development feature of the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM). The FHM has regional roots and at the same time pursues an international orientation as a partner of a globally expanding SME sector.

The main objective is to support medium-sized companies in the internationalization process by qualifying and promoting the next generation of managers with international experience. The FHM's internationalization strategy primarily encompasses topics and concepts in the field of GlobalSMEs, which are anchored in research and teaching, scientific projects, university cooperation and institutional networks in the SME sector.

Bridge to the world for students and SMEs

With Campus.International, FHM offers a comprehensive international study program for foreign applicants. Students benefit from cultural and academic diversity, international lecturers and valuable experience abroad.

The FHM maintains numerous European and non-European university partnerships, which not only promote innovative degree programs, but also enable the development of research structures and the support of forward-looking research topics. Students who are interested in studying abroad have the opportunity to use these networks for internships or study visits abroad and thus expand their professional, linguistic and intercultural skills.
Another component of the internationalization strategy is international research projects with a focus on international SME research and country-specific initiatives.

Against the background of these activities, the International Office acts as the central organizational interface of the FHM in the area of international affairs.
